Happy Thanksgiving
Well, we haven't posted in a while and here is why. Our computer died! My link to the outside world is toast. I have been in the process of transferring family pictures and all of that fun stressful stuff so I can save family memories. I have the cutest pictures of Evalyn as a flower at Halloween, but no way to post them...yet. So we just wanted to tell everyone HAPPY THANKSGIVING from the Pugmire family and hopefully we will be posting something interesting soon!!!!

Buddies
Our good friends the Bevans were able to come up to our home and visit. Evalyn LOVED having Ruthie and Tate to play with. She is used to boring Mom all of the time and to see someone her size was super exciting.

Dave was pulling them around on the blanket on our hardwood floors (didnt we all do that when we were little?) The girls were loving it but Tate wasnt so sure...

Tate thought Evalyns hair was pretty cool...

We are so lucky to have such awesome friends and hopefully the hard winter ahead will still allow them to make another trip up!

Finally some food
Last week a girlfriend and I went to one of the canning nights here in town. I have been trying to build up a 3mo supply of food storage but I finally decided I would can some items to rotate in a 3mo supply.(stuff we will actually eat in addition to our wheat, beans, rice etc)and then go from there. Anywho, we had a lot of fun and I highly recommend the outing. Through the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints you can get food storage for amazing prices. I was able to can 2 cans of potato flakes, 1can carrots, 1 sugar, and 2cans of apple slices for $29.00 Now going back every month and stocking up will be easy. Now the items I canned along with my small supply I had previously actually looks like some food storage! (kinda boosts your self esteem:)

PROTECT MARRIAGE
Even if we do not live in California we can help protect marriage. We need to start taking an active role and show our conviction in protecting our families. If proposition 8 is not passed to protect marriage as defined between a man and a woman, it will effect us all. It is only a matter of time before it reaches our states and our families, our children. Visit Protectmarriage.com and discover what you can do. I encourage all of us to post the link to protectmarriage.com on our blogs.

Sunday after conference, Kevin and Nicole came up to visit. We drove them to Aspen Grove to see some of the fall colors and get a few pictures. Our camera was acting up so they offered to take a bunch of our family. The scenery was beautiful! Autumn has always been my favorite time of year. I love the crisp air, beautiful colors, and hot cider. I am so glad Kevin and Nicole were able to come up with us. Thanks again guys for all of the pictures!!!

A good night sleep
Evalyn has always been a great sleeper. She started sleeping through the night when she was 4 weeks old, and for the most part she has ever since. The other morning she awoke from another great night of sleep and wow! I just had to take a picture of that hair. She was in such a happy mood. She stayed nice and cozy on our first chilly night.

Great Grandparents
A few weeks ago, Evalyn and I had the opportunity to attend my cousin Christine's wedding in Washington. While we were eating the great wedding dinner I captured a few priceless pictures of Evalyn with my Grandma and Grandpa Hayes. She loved playing with them. I love these pictures, especially the second one. Isn't my Grandma beautiful?!!

Finally an update!
Yes the countdown was up weeks ago, and yes I did run the Park City Half Marathon, YAY! Here are some pictures taken before the race with Kevin and Nicole. I am so glad I did it. Kevin and Nicole kicked my booty but I was counting on that! I really enjoyed it and ran my heart out. After I had Evalyn I couldn't even run a block and now this! I am proud of my time and I am really looking forward to doing this again and seeing how much I can improve. I will update more pictures later. I have a lot of catching up to do. In one of the pictures I have a safety pin in my mouth (It is not a piercing) Also the last picture was taken after the race...we are tired, and we were not ready for the picture...

Park City Half-Marathon
Well I think I am crazy, BUT I am entered to run (jog) the Park City Half Marathon this August. In my post about three goals I have, I listed one as running a race. I was thinking something more like a 5 or 10k but with the help of my awesome cousin Nicole I am going to push myself. The race is August 23, and you will notice my countdown. I will be running with my cousins Kevin and Nicole while Dave races ahead of us. He is a little more experienced in this area so he can take my picture when I cross the finish line-who knows how long after him. I am scared stiff and totally anxious but all in all I am totally excited. Thirteen miles does sound like a long way though. So wish me luck and here's to training!!

A post for Grandma
My mom is missing Evalyn (she misses you too).So here are some little video clips for you mom. Sorry it took so long. (I wish I could edit my voice out of these!)
I also noticed Evalyn's hair isn't done in some of the video's and she is sporting what Dave calls "Brigham hair".

Tribute to a friend
My post today is a little out of the ordinary. I have already written about our crazy month of may, but in the chaos I really blew it. May 2nd was an important day, and as it passed I became more and more embarrassed that I had overlooked it. I have been putting this off for long enough. I would like to say a huge HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to an amazing friend. I have a birthday card I never mailed, but I think I will just let you (AMY) and everyone else know what a flake I am.(I might as well embarrass myself publicly) Amy and I met when we were roommates up at BYU-I. Our apartment really hit it off, and we had such a blast. As soon as Amy and I started hanging out I realized I had met a friend for life. She is so kind-hearted and caring. She was always sensitive to others feelings. I can honestly say I have never heard her say a negative thing about anyone, that's just the kind of person she is. So here's to you Amy, and the "spooners" dodge ball team, and Cierra, and "My milkshake...",oh and "You don't own me". Your friendship has always meant so much to me and I hope we can continue to stay in touch, even though the miles between us are long.

Family Outing
Last Saturday Dave decided to take us on a little drive and we ended up in Wasatch State Park. It is so beautiful and so close to our home. The park has a ton of campsites and the upper and lower Provo river. While we were driving Dave hit the brakes and right beside us was a moose! (We took a pic) We continued to drive and saw a sign that said Provo Falls, so we went exploring. They are so beautiful. So here are some pictures of our random family outing.

Short little video
I keep telling my mom I will post a short video (sorry mom, this is REAL short) Evalyn is just winding down for the day and as you can tell from the video, we just took a bow out of her hair. Thanks again to all of our family who came in May, we started to get a little spoiled and now we are going though withdrawals. Hope all is well, we love you and look forward to the next time we will see each other.

We are almost updated....
Well, I have posted a ton today and I think we are pretty close to updated. Here are some recent pictures of Evalyn. The first one is Evie with her favorite toy. She loves this little frog, it was a gift from my cousins Tawnya, Danielle and my aunt Janet. There is also a picture of Evie in her nike outfit, all ready for a jog with mom.
We are finally doing something with Evalyns crazy hair. At 3 months old she is wearing pigtails, but the truth is we could have started doing this much much earlier.

The Best Kind of CRAZY
Wow, time goes by so quickly! The past month or so has been super crazy, but it has also been the best few weeks ever. We were blessed to have family visiting to celebrate some exciting events. First Nana(Dave's mom) and Carie came for a visit the end of April to meet Evalyn. Carie brought Mckay and took some great pictures of Mckay and Evalyn together. Then May 9th it was off to Washington for my brother Jordan's farewell. We were able to see most of our family there. My parents also held an open house event for Jordan and there was about 70+ people (Poor Evalyn didnt know what to think). A few days after we returned home our family followed us out to Utah for Evalyn's baby blessing. We were so grateful because Nana was also able to come out again. After the blessing we had friends and family over. Three days later it was time to take Jordan to the MTC in Provo. Evalyn and I were able to attend the program there with our family. What a neat experience! I am so proud of my little brother and miss him already. He is truly one of my best friends.So... here are some pictures of all the events!

Hillbilly Move
90% of our things were packed neatly in a large moving van, but Dave had to go back after an exhausting weekend of packing, moving up the canyon and unloading trucks, to pick up a "few" things. You always think the last few items are no big deal but there is always more to pack. Anyhow, Dave called me on his way back up the canyon and told me he felt like a hillbilly and was embarrassed to drive the load he had. When he arrived home I understood. (He even looks like a hillbilly)Poor Dave, his back is still sore from the move. Doesn't he look exhausted.(I'm sure he wont mind me posting this picture.)
We're back!
We have not posted anything since before our move but we are beginning to feel a little settled and thought we would update our family and friends. We are in Heber City Utah and loving it. Dave's commute has gone from one hour and fifteen minutes or so down to 25 minutes. We love having him around more, especially Evalyn. We have lots of pictures to post. Here are some of Evalyn, she is changing so quickly and her hair is CRAZY. I cant do a thing with it.

Hair Dryer
Evalyn has not lost any of her hair like most babies, instead its only getting longer. After bath time her hair is taking longer and longer to dry and she gets a little chilly, so I decided to try and blow dry it on low heat. She loved it so much that we use the hair dryer after every bath now. Here are a few pictures after the first time we dried her hair.
Evalyn and Mommy
Well, its late Thursday night and between trying to pack up the house by myself (in three days) cleaning and taking care of Evalyn I'm pooped! So, instead of sitting and slipping into self pity I decided to take a two minute break and look at some of the pictures we have taken lately. I came across these pictures of Evalyn and I and was reminded of how enormously blessed I am. I know "counting your many blessings" is one of the best ways to lift yourself and tonight it worked wonders. I am so thankful for the gospel in my life. I am thankful for the knowledge I have that my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ lives. I am so grateful to be blessed with a loving, devoted husband and that we have been entrusted with a beautiful baby girl.

Happy Easter
We enjoyed a beautiful easter Sunday here in Utah-the sunshine, being with family and most importantly thinking about our Savior and the reason for the holliday. The 65 degree weather allowed for our first family pictures outside our home. I had a great excuse to dress Evalyn up and we were able to have Easter dinner with our family, Kevin and Nicole. (Thank you again Nicole for taking pictures for us). Kevin held Evalyn for the second time, he was still a little nervous but she was loving it.

A present from Daddy
Dave came home the other night with a surprise for Evalyn and I! I have been looking at this rocker online for months, dreaming about having it to rock her to sleep in and to sit in when we get up in the middle of the night. Dave went out to buy a different rocker the other night but gave me the news that the store did not have any we liked in stock. I was so dissapointed but when he came home he brought a huge box up with him and surprised us with the rocker I never expected to have. Anyways, I thought I would post a picture of it to show the family. I also decided to post a picture of Evalyn right after an afternoon rocking session to prove how much she is enjoying her present from Daddy.

Kiss the Queen
So Dave and I are not quite sure what was going on here. Evalyn had been asleep for quite some time in her boppy while Dave and I were eating dinner when she suddenly raised her arm and held her hand out to us-still asleep of course. I quickly realized this was her way of reminding us we were her slaves. (At least that is how it feels in the middle of the night) Dave tried lowering her hand but it wouldn't budge. She was like this for at least a minute.

Thank Goodness for Mothers
I wanted to publicly thank my mom for her love and much needed support. She flew in to Salt Lake City a little earlier than planned because I was having contractions 10 min apart and we all thought that Evalyn was on her way. Well, six days later she was! In the meantime I was laboring at home and I cannot express how thankful I am that she was there with me, I get emotional every time I think about it. I did not get a wink of sleep that whole week and she didn't get much either; in fact she was up with me all of Thursday night, recording the time of my contractions (6 min apart, 7 min, 8, 4, etc.)rubbing my back and reminding me to breathe so I could get through one more. So, THANK YOU MOM- WE LOVE YOU!!! - love,: CARISSA AND EVALYN. OH, AND DAVE (who wouldn't have had any sleep unless you were there with me:))

Baby Changing Table

Daves "I could make that" attitude is really coming in handy. I was so excited when he offered to make a changing table(instead of buying one of course). He is enjoying making it and I think it will be really special once it is finished. He just has to add the shelves and hopefully we will have it in her room by tonight!

The waiting game...39 weeks & 4 days!
