In early October we spent a day with friends on their property harvesting apples. We had boxes full and later took them home for homemade applesause and canned as much as possible. Nothing feels more like autumn. And nothing smells more like autumn than cooking fresh apples over the stovetop. yum.
Siena was sneaking a nibble hear and there. She took full advantage of her new tooth.
Evie had so much fun picking the apples and filling up her bag.
We adopted our friends grandpa for the afternoon. Evalyn became a little attatched. She loved riding on the tractor.
Later Evalyn helped "grandpa" collect some eggs and we were able to take some home with us.
Pumpkin Patch
Finding a decent pumpkin patch in Utah is...well almost impossible. No one hear even knows what a real one is. So we settle. I am pretty sure we have found one of the best places here though. Their fresh pressed cider is so good.
Last year (October 2009) when Evalyn was 20 months she picked out her first pumpkin. She walked around for a while, pointed to the one she wanted, and then sat on it. We thought that was pretty cute. This year (October 2010) she did the same thing. Guess this is how its done.

When Nana comes to Town...
We get a little spoiled
This trip included a princess treasure chest full of dresses, crowns, and jewlery
Even Siena loved itNana was here for Halloween and enjoyed carving pumpkins with us. Evalyn still refuses to touch the pumpkin guts. Siena on the other hand...
She always takes it a step further. This is Evalyn mortified that Siena decided to taste the pumpkin.
We made the best and I mean the best caramel apples this year. We still had apples we picked from earlier in the month. We coated them with carmel, white chocolate, milk chocolate then dipped them in crushed snickers bars, and penuts. Nana really enjoyed hers.
