December 2010

We stared off the month by packing up the car with blankets, gloves a map and a saw. We finally started our Christmas tradition of going into the mountains to cut down a Christmas Tree! I was definately the most excited about this. Evalyn on the other hand was very confused once we parked in the woods and Daddy dissapeared into the trees.

My parents always made Christmas and the whole month of December special for us. I want to do the same thing for our children. This year I took Evalyn on a mommy and me date to see the Nutcracker in town. She has been really into ballarinas and loves loves loves to dance around the family room in a dress to music. Nearly everyday she walks out of her room wearing a "princess" dress (any dress) and says "mommy can you please turn music on for me so I can dance?" She loved watching the nutcracker and the music really puts you in the holliday spirit. I had so much fun watching her face.

We took a lot of pictures in December and I am so glad we did. Time flies way too fast. I remember my parents telling me that when I was little and I just didn't get it. Siena turned one years old on December 22nd. Now I get it. She is running around and is so tiny that people stop to look at her and then ask me "isn't she way too young to be walking let alone running?" She is so petite and is still the best cuddler ever! Dave loves that she will just lay her head on his shoulder and snuggle as long as you want her to.

We were able to celebrate with my family since they came down for Christmas this year. We had so much fun being squished in our little house. Evalyn and Siena were a little spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa, but I guess thats what grandparents do.

When my family arrived we didnt waste any time. First we headed out on a one horse open sliegh!! (ok so it was pulled by two mules but you get the idea).

We made time for some dancing and crazyness...

Dave made some time for a huge snow castle that Noche our 9yr old family dog ended up peeing on. (Dave was not happy)

Then it was off to Temple Square to see the lights! One of my favorite parts about living in Utah.
