Towards the end of summer we tried to squeeze in as much as possible and take advantage of where we live. So on a whim, we convinced our friends the Nelsons to go on a little canoe adventure in the mountains. The drive to Mirror Lake was beautiful and Dave was itching to get his fly rod out while we passed views like this:
When we arrived at Mirror Lake it was FREEZING we are talking low 40's and I know they were thinking (the Pugmire's have no idea what they are doing)
But we all braved the cold and it was well worth it because when the sun came out it was beautiful. The water was so still. We are definitely making a tradition of this one.
We stopped by Provo Falls on the way home. I never get tired of seeing the views.
Unfortunately I wasn't on top of things as well as I should have been and we all got a little sun burned.
Next we headed to Brigham City for Peach Days. Dave plays in a softball tournament up there with some friends and I grab my load of peaches for canning, freezing and jam to last the rest of the year. (but it never does)
Of course we had to stop at Maddox and grab some grub!
We decided since we were trying to make the most of our summer (and since Dave's team didn't make it any further in the tournament) We would head up to Bear Lake for the rest of that next day. We are so glad we did!
We stopped at the house where Dave's Grandpa was born (Yes in this house almost 100 years ago)
Then spent the rest of the afternoon eating fresh raspberry shakes and lounging by the lake.
Evie collected quite the supply of sea shells (or as she called them "mermaids")
Dave of course wanted to explore a new way home by driving through Wyoming and finally after much debate I convinced him to make sure and ask that we would be headed in the right direction. Yes, he is wearing shorts, his baseball jersey and boots.
We ended up making it home and will definitely use that route in the future.

Siena looks really different from Evalyn to me- they each have their own adorable look. So, so, so sweet! I love that Evalyn called the seashells mermaids-- she must be a little girl :) :)
